Strength Training Really Rules All
strength training, change it up, body transformation
|
Strength training is the fastest and most efficient way to TRANSFORM your physique. Strength training will build muscle, burn fat and if done properly will train your heart like cardio. The difference is, you can't watch Sports Center or Oprah while you do it. You need to focus and you need to fully engage yourself to the task at hand. What is that task? The task is to kick your own ass for 30-45 minutes.
The human body is the only thing that you can tear down day after day and it responds by becoming stronger, more resilient and more beautiful. Remember this before you scrimp on a set or rack the weights before you are truly fatigued. Your body will respond but it must be challenged for there to be real results.
There is no pill, no diet, no magic wish that will truly change the way you look and feel. Like Bigfoot, there is reality and the reality is, you have to earn it.
Your body will experience the beneficial effects of strength training for a full 48 hours after completing a training session. This means the best results will come from training every other day. Targeted workouts (single body part per day) are unnecessary and counterproductive. Nearly every exercise incorporates the entire body, not directly but your balance, stability and core are engaged by nearly every exercise. Squats, dead-lifts and bench presses call the entire musculoskeletal system to action but simple exercises do as well. For example, standing barbell curls require the lower body and core muscles to engage for proper form, stability and balance. Try standing on just one leg while performing the same barbell curls, tell me how that feels!
Simple Movement: Incorporates a single flexion point or joint
Compound Movement: Incorporates multiple flexion points or joints
