Well Enough To Go To The Gym
|
So, finally, after this crazy sickness I just had...we're taking Saturday thru Wednesday (5 days of absolute HELL)...I am able to go to the gym. I plan on getting there right after work. My cardio may have to be light since I'm still coughing a little - trying to get the rest of the sickness out of me. I can't believe I was just put out of the gym for a week. But I need to get back on track...back to my regular 5-6 days a week commitment. This cold was crazy...I lost my voice pretty much Sunday thru Tuesday...I missed work Mon-Wed. Well, actually, I went in Tuesday because I felt bad and the minute my boss came in he ordered me to go home and rest. Luckily I have a great boss. I'm eager to get completely well again so I can get things back up to speed with my workouts!

SICK!
|
This really sucks...Friday I was feeling fine...worked all day, hit the gym afterward then went out with my hubby and another couple...we got home at around 12:30 and hit the sack. Saturday, I wake up with a runny nose, and one side of my throat and my ear feels so infected...almost like strep. So I had to miss my every Saturday Step & Sculpt class. My body ached all day yesterday and my voice started turning into Demi Moore-style, but worse. So this morning, I'm in absolute agony and can barely manage to get out of bed. My husband had to tend to our 2 yr old when he got up at 7:30 and I stayed in bed til 10am. Today, my whole throat and both ears hurt, I sound like I'm about to lose my entire voice, and I dread coughing because it hurts so bad...I have to like wheeze to control it. This sucks...so now I'll be out of the gym today and yesterday (thank God I went Friday before this hit because I took a break on Thurs.) so that would have been 4 days in a row with no gym. We'll see how I feel tomorrow...I may have to call out sick from work if this gets worse or doesn't get any better. Ugh, this sucks SO BAD! And to top it off, it's finally a gorgeous day outside and I'm stuck inside!

Recommended Home Workout DVDs:
TurboJam – I just got this and I LOVE it…I tried it out last night and even me, a seasoned gym-goer felt the burn and was dripping in sweat. I'm going to do one of these workouts at least 5x a week in addition to my regular workouts! After I get my personal and group fitness certifications, I am going to go to LA to an instructor's workshop to become a certified TurboJam® Instructor and hopefully make it a big thing in the Charleston area.
YogaBootyBallet – Cardio Caberet and HipHop Abs really get a good cardio workout in and then they do some ab isolation on the hiphop DVD and some sculpting moves with dumbbells on their regular YogaBootyBallet DVD. I've had these for a couple years and still love to pull them out if I can't make it to the gym on a certain day. (Mothers need these types of backup!)
Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease – I love these just because they are fun…and once you get the routines down, if you set the DVDs to the programmable workouts where the routine runs over and over, you WILL get a cardio workout and some good stretching. There ... read entire entry
