SICK!

This really sucks...Friday I was feeling fine...worked all day, hit the gym afterward then went out with my hubby and another couple...we got home at around 12:30 and hit the sack. Saturday, I wake up with a runny nose, and one side of my throat and my ear feels so infected...almost like strep. So I had to miss my every Saturday Step & Sculpt class. My body ached all day yesterday and my voice started turning into Demi Moore-style, but worse. So this morning, I'm in absolute agony and can barely manage to get out of bed. My husband had to tend to our 2 yr old when he got up at 7:30 and I stayed in bed til 10am. Today, my whole throat and both ears hurt, I sound like I'm about to lose my entire voice, and I dread coughing because it hurts so bad...I have to like wheeze to control it. This sucks...so now I'll be out of the gym today and yesterday (thank God I went Friday before this hit because I took a break on Thurs.) so that would have been 4 days in a row with no gym. We'll see how I feel tomorrow...I may have to call out sick from work if this gets worse or doesn't get any better. Ugh, this sucks SO BAD! And to top it off, it's finally a gorgeous day outside and I'm stuck inside!

Ron Maybe try throwing some peroxide into the ears? Let the peroxide stay in each ear until any crackling/fizzing stops. I've actually found it to help with colds. And if it doesn't work... Hey! At least your ears are clean!

Mitch Hope you feel better

LadyLisa Don't you worry a little break never hurt anyone and once you get back into it I am sure you will make up all the time you missed. Your right there's nothing wrong with loving fitness because when you do something that makes you feel so good its very addicting and you don't want that feeling to stop. When you have kids the only rest you get is when you get sick so kick your feet up and get better.

fitbeachbabe Yeah, I hate missing workouts...my hubby says I'm obsessed, but I'd rather be obsessed about something like health and fitness than something that's bad for me, like many people are.

Rusty See...you are like me...you know you will be fit for life if it is agonizing to miss your workouts. Some people dread going to the gym. I can't comprehend that. Get better and then kick some butt again. Also, get out there and enjoy that weather when you feel better!

fitbeachbabe That's true...I guess I should look at it that way...I rarely force myself to take the breaks I should. You know, I probably got this from the gym...maybe someone didn't wipe the equipment I used and had a cold...there's so much crap going around right now, I was bound to catch something...ugh.

ryan I feel ya, getting sick sucks. Especially when you have that annoying throat thing where it hurts to swallow. I hate that. I've heard it's good to take 4-5 day breaks from working out every once and awhile to relax the body. So try to think of this as that break.
