Which Olympian is Superman?
|
After last night's viewing of the Olympics, I'm befuddled...
Is Michael Phelps "Superman", because of his EIGHT, count 'em, EIGHT Gold Medals this past week?
Or...
Is Usain Bolt (the most awesome sprinter's name EVER!!!!), who just won a Gold AND broke the world record in the 100m Dash with a 9.69 time, is HE the real-life Superman?
On a speed-alone basis, Bolt takes the cake & then some, as it literally looked like he ran like a superhero in a comic-book movie. I think one announcer said it was 'like a video game's speed'. I know how crazy how video game speeds can be, because I broke the 'world record' on ESPN Int'l Track & Field for my Playstation in the 100m Dash. Still, even my video game speed capabilities couldn't beat Usain Bolt's time last night.
I also hate to say this, but I pray that these accomplishments are legit, and not tainted. It would be a shame to see such magnificent performances by these, and other Olympic athletes this past week, turn out to be tainted by banned substances. I hope there is enough complete natural talent out there to eclipse such questions about steroids & other stuff.
It's just that in today's day & age, almost every athletic accomplishment is now under questioning after all that has happened in professional & Olympic levels of sport.
