Cause for concern?

Cause for concern? Here is the deal... like many north americans, I do not like jogging.  I do jog, and quite often, but I would rather do something else.

When I do my cardio at the gym it usually involves the stairmaster, stationary bike, eliptical and then some laps around the track, and on occassion some wind sprints.

Yesterday morning I woke up and when directly to the gym.  It was a great back workout, and I decided instead of the normal cardio I do, I will hop on a treadmill and enjoy 20 to 25 minutes of music in my MP3 player.

Here is where the concern started.  After a mere 45 seconds, I felt a sharp intense pain on my right side, exactly half way between my armpit and my hip.  I rested for 15 seconds and it went away.  I stretched and started jogging again, and wham... it came back.

I decided to go back to my regular routine and I had no problem whatsoever.

Later on in the day yesterday I went for a beautiful walk, which I will discuss in another blog, and when I got home decided to try jogging again... guess what... I couldn't.

This pain is only present during jogging... any clues as to what it may be???

Chicken Arms
Tags: help wanted, muscle building, fitness training, eating habits, biceps

I am huge on cardio. I eat well, and make sure to get 7 1/2 to 8 hours of sleep every night.
I workout regularly, and they are intense workouts.
My gut is smaller and firmer than ever before. My legs are well toned, as is my back, and my shoulders are well on their way.
I have skinny forearms and almost no evidence of having biceps.
My shoulder/tricep and chest/bicep routines are the 2 toughest, most intense workouts I do.
Why am I not gaining muscle on there. I am in no hurry to look like an Olympia competitior, and don't even need to get "huge", but some muscle is nice.
Does anybody have advise since I am obviously a heard gainer when it comes to biceps.
Thakn you!!!

Calorie Questions
Tags: diet, help wanted, eating habits

I am 6'1". I am also very active. I live a healthy and active lifestyle. I wake up with my kids, get them ready for school, i go to work, come home to cook and get the kids to bed, then its off to the gym for 2+ hours.
I eat very healthy food, but I also workout more than many.
How many calories should I be eating? Since I do so much cardio 6 days a week, does it really matter?
Currently I try to eat roughly 1400 calories.
My goal is to lose inches off my gut, and ad slight amount of visible muscle.
How many calories should I eat?
I am looking for as many tips and as much advise as possible.
Cheers...

Lost in a sea of information
Tags: weight loss, diet, muscle building, help wanted, internet

Ok, so I lost 8 pounds and 3.5 inches all by myself. That is pretty good, but it is only a start. Now that I am in better shape than I was 3 weeks ago, its time to revamp my workout and change my diet a bit.
Going online you find thousands of articles about food, weightloss, muscle gain and millions of other related topics. However, it is hard to find 2 articles that support the same theory.
I spent the last 3 weeks eating very healthy, low carb, low sugar, high fiber, high protein diet. My biceps and chest did grow slightly. My gut dissolved and needs to continue.
I am now setting a new goal, and would love as much advise as possible. I am in this to look good, feel good, and most important, to be healthy!
