Milk... my enemy/my friend

We all know milk is good for you. There is no doubt in my mind about that. However, I do not like the taste of milk, never really have.
I make it a point to buy 1% milk with added Omega-3 for the kids, and they also get vanilla and chocolate soy milk. I drink 1 glass of soy milk each day.
I am unsure if there are benefits to soy milk. I was told that soy milk has less fat and more protein, but I am yet to get that as an accurate fact.
Does anybody know if this is true?
How many glasses is really a "great" amount to drink per day?
I would love any opinions, advise, and of course facts about milk.
