Hard Drinks Worse than Eating a Big Mac, Opt for these Low Cal Cocktails Did you know that 2 glasses of Rum Punch can add up to 700 calories? That means those colorful little cocktails actually contain more calories than a Big Mac. I know there are many people out there that wouldn't dare step into a fast food restaurant and order up a greasy burger, yet on the weekends you can find them throwing back drinks that have calorie counts comparable to full meals. But Ryan, what am I supposed to do if I value having a fit body, but also like to get twizzled on the weekends? Don't worry, you can still get drunk as a skunk without packing on the pounds. You just have to look into the nutritional value and be smart about it. You'd be surprised at which other drinks are high-calorie. I'd recommend sticking to this list of Low-Cal cocktails that I found: http://www.vitaljuicedaily.com/2007/12/12/low-cal-cocktails/?dir=fitconnect I actually found this list of beverages a week ago, which was convenient because I held a small party with some friends of mine, who tend to be health nuts. This way I was able to show them a good time and they didn't have to go crazy in the gym the next day in order to work of the late night calories.

taylorryan I am in the process for training for a figure competition which means no alcohol for 11 more weeks (not that I am counting) I only drink a few glasses of wine per week but cutting it out completely I feel less bloated and great! wish me luck.

ryan Corona's are definitely necessary in the summertime, whether in the US or The Land Down Under. Blue moon i put in a healthy food category due to the orange peel, and therefore there is no limit on how many to drink. We need a lot of vitamin C don't we?

Rusty I'm all about beer as well. Blue Moon, Stella, Alaskan Amber, Fat Tire, Widmere Hefeweisen, etc...bring it on! Can't beat a Corona Light in the summer, however.

Hulbs Ryan, not much Fosters drank in oz. Heaps of it is drank in Europe though! But Fosters The actual brewer own heaps of other beers that have different brandings on them. My current favourite beers are Miller Chill and Corona etc for our hot summers, and maybe some of the boutique wheat beers in the colder months.

ryan Hulbs, i usually stick to beer as well. Do you guys drink foster's all the time in australia? or is that just a marketing gimmick
ryan on 2/26/2008 in response to Hulbs Respond

ryan Thanks rusty, i agree there's no reason that staying in shape should cut into your social life or be boring... The term "twizzled" is hard to define, but easy to recognize.
ryan on 2/26/2008 in response to Rusty Respond

Hulbs Cool Post Ryan! it's important that we still enjoy a drink or three! now and again. I like beer best but i tend to go the low carb beers which also tend to have a lot less calories.

Rusty Posts like this make me happy! Looking good and leading an exciting lifestyle. I'm all about it! Never heard of the term "twizzled"...funny stuff!

ryan haha "be prepared," i like your style Eco
ryan on 2/26/2008 in response to Ecossaise Respond

Ecossaise Champagne is definitely my favorite drink! I like to buy splits (2 glasses) and demi-bouteilles (3-4 glasses), so that I don't have a whole bottle to finish off before it loses its carbonation. I always have some in the fridge (along with red and white wines and gin and vermouth and little bottles of tonic and limes and...) Be prepared, right? :-)
Ecossaise on 2/25/2008 Respond

ryan Yes, I knew there were many others out there just like me, who are all about working out, yet at the same time, we enjoy a good drink or two... or 10 - 12.
